AWAC’s Mentoring Committee is delighted to host Molly Ubbesen, Aaron Bruenger, and Bronson Lemer for a virtual workshop: “AWAC Ungrading Workshop: Anti-ableist and Anti-racist Approaches.”
Assessment is a ubiquitous factor in the teaching of writing, but assessment practices have often been influenced, whether overtly or subtly, by racist and ableist assumptions and expectations. Ungrading offers a more learning-centered approach to assessment and, critically, offers opportunities to engage anti-racist and anti-ableist work when it comes to assessment.
Join us as we engage in discussion of and reflection on anti-racist and anti-ableist approaches to ungrading.
All AWAC members are invited to join us for this workshop on Friday, May 3rd, from 2:00-3:30pm Eastern/1:00-2:30pm Central/12:00-1:30pm Mountain/11:00am-12:30pm Pacific.
