DESCRIPTION:AWAC’s Mentoring Committee is delighted to host Anna Kinney and David Beard for a virtual workshop: “Building Coalitions for Writing Program Advocacy” \nDate: Friday\, February 13\nTime: 12pm ET (11am CT\, 10am MT\, 9am PT\, 5pm GMT\, 6pm CET) \nPresenter Info:\nAnna Kinney\, Coordinator of the University Writing Program\, University of North Dakota\nDavid Beard\, Writing Studies BA Program Coordinator and Professor of Rhetoric\, University of Minnesota-Duluth \n\nDeclining enrollment. External stakeholders focused on ROI and “efficiencies.” Misaligned strategic investment risk causing reduction or elimination of those who are committed to the shared values of higher education. The pressures we face are many and exhausting. In this session\, we will share what we’ve learned from these challenges\, from navigating internal institutional pressures to doing “sneaky advocacy” with legislators and state boards.
