SUMMARY:AWAC Research and Publications Workshop: Peer and AI Review and Reflection (PAIRR): A Human-centered Approach to AI Feedback in WAC Classes
DESCRIPTION:The Research and Publications Committee of the Association for Writing Across the Curriculum invites all AWAC members to a workshop on Peer and AI Review and Reflection (PAIRR): A Human-centered Approach to AI Feedback in WAC Classes. Click here to learn more.) \n  \n\nDate: Friday\, October 31\, 2025\nTime: 2pm ET (1pm CT\, 12pm MT\, 11am PT) \n\n  \nRegister for the workshop here: https://umich.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cIO4Y19DKzMvyKO \n  \nResponding to the need for AI-related WAC guidance\, and with the support of an AWAC Research Initiative Grant\, the presenters created a pedagogical approach that fostered AI literacy\, metacognition\, and agency development in WAC courses at UC Davis (Sperber et al.\, 2025). The PAIRR approach features (1) readings about AI to promote discussion\, (2) paired peer review and rubric-driven AI feedback\, and (3) student reflection on feedback and revision. Through funding from the California Educational Learning Lab\, the presenters have expanded the project to 8 colleges. In this session\, presenters will report on PAIRR’s affordances\, limitations\, and possible adaptations for different WAC contexts.
